Bidspirit auction | US 1921-D Morgan Silver Dollar
US 1921-D Morgan Silver Dollar - This is a 1921 US Morgan silver dollar struck at the Denver Mint. The coin is composed of silver. It features the standard Morgan dollar design on both the obverse and reverse. A small D mint mark is located on the reverse, positioned below the wreath and above the letters DO in DOLLAR. The 1921-D issue is historically significant as the only year the Morgan dollar was produced at the Denver Mint before the series was discontinued in favor of the Peace dollar. The coin is in circulated condition. It exhibits visible wear on the high points of the design, particularly on the hair and the feathers of the eagle's breast. The surfaces show numerous contact marks, hairlines, and scattered scratches across the fields. Dark toning and environmental residue are present within the recessed lettering and along the denticled rim. The overall luster is dull.
