1946-1970s US Roosevelt Dime Collection, 90% Silver and Clad - A collection of United States Roosevelt dimes dating from 1946 to approximately 1970, presented in a blue Whitman folding coin album. This group includes numerous ten-cent pieces struck in 90% silver for issues dated 1946 through 1964, transitioning to copper-nickel clad composition for issues from 1965 onward. The obverse of each coin features the profile of Franklin D. Roosevelt with the legends LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse design consists of a central torch flanked by olive and oak branches with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME. Various mint marks are present, including D for Denver and S for San Francisco. A notable feature of this collection is a handwritten label below the 1964-D slot indicating a potential double-strike reverse error on that specific specimen. The folder is a standard Whitman brand album featuring gold-stamped lettering and a winged eagle logo. Dimensions: 9.25 inches (height). The coins display a variety of circulated conditions ranging from Good to About Uncirculated. Many of the 90% silver issues exhibit heavy environmental toning and typical surface wear from circulation. Some later-date clad coins show traces of original mint luster. The blue Whitman folder shows moderate shelf wear, including bumped corners, surface spotting, and minor abrasions to the exterior finish.
