A Collection of Silver Age DC and Multi-Publisher Comic Books - This lot features a collection of approximately 16 vintage comic books primarily published by DC Comics, alongside titles from Dell, Gilberton, and Charlton, dating between 1957 and 1962. Key DC titles include Showcase numbers 35 and 36, which represent the second and third appearances of Ray Palmer as The Atom. Other notable issues include The Atom number 2 (Which is the Cover and Back Cover Only), The Flash number 125 featuring The Conquerors of Time, Detective Comics number 294 featuring Batman and Robin, and Batman Annual number 2. The group also contains World's Finest Comics numbers 122 and 125, The Brave and the Bold number 40 featuring Cave Carson with cover art by Joe Kubert, and Classics Illustrated number 138 based on Jules Verne. Additional titles include Challengers of the Unknown number 22, Rip Hunter Time Master number 4, Blackhawk number 154, Tales of the Unexpected number 61, Sugarfoot number 907 with a photo cover, and a Charlton science fiction issue featuring The Vanishing Point. This collection was recovered from behind a wall in the Finger Lakes region. All items are in rough, ungraded condition with significant signs of age and structural damage. Most issues are missing their original covers. The Atom number 2 is incomplete, consisting only of the front and back cover. Several issues exhibit uniform two-hole binder punch marks along the spine edge, including Challengers of the Unknown number 22, Rip Hunter number 4, Blackhawk number 154, and Sugarfoot number 907. Observable damage includes fully or partially detached covers, significant tearing, surface scuffing, spine stress, edge chipping, and heavy tanning to the newsprint. Classics Illustrated number 138 contains a previous owner's name and address written in ink on the back cover.
