A Pair of Vintage K-D Lamp Co. 517 Harley Davidson Knucklehead Panhead Fender Light Housings - A pair of vintage Harley Davidson Knucklehead and Panhead front fender light housings, manufactured by the K-D Lamp Co. as model number 517. These streamlined teardrop-style components consist of one structural housing frame and one decorative shell cover, both made of die-cast metal with a chrome finish. The interior of the frame is stamped with PAT # D124618, K-D 517, and S.E.M.A. APRVD. The design is based on US Patent D124618, which was issued in 1941. While highly sought after for vintage motorcycle restoration, these parts were also used as universal marker and clearance lights for commercial trucks and buses during the 1940s and 1950s. Length: 9 inches. Items are in used, unrestored condition. Both pieces exhibit heavy surface pitting, oxidation, and significant loss of the original chrome plating. There are various surface scratches and scuffs consistent with long-term use and storage. A visible hairline crack is present at the front mounting hole of one component. Both items are sold as restoration cores.
