A Vintage Camp Fire Girls Ceremonial Gown with Leather Stole and Beaded Necklace - This vintage youth organization ceremonial garment is identified by its interior label as an official gown of the Camp Fire Girls. Known as a WoHeLo gown, the piece is constructed from a heavy tan cotton canvas or twill. It is designed as a machine-sewn tunic featuring short sleeves and a lace-up neckline with metal eyelets and a leather thong. Long suede leather fringe is applied to the sleeve cuffs and the bottom hem. The garment includes an integrated leather stole draped over the shoulders, adorned with four hand-painted leather honor patches in various geometric and symbolic designs. A long, multi-strand leather cord necklace with colorful wooden and composition beads is present. Additional wooden beads are attached to the leather fringe along the bottom hem. The interior back neck contains a woven cloth label featuring the Camp Fire Girls logo with a central flame symbol and the letters W O H E L O inside a triangle, with the word GIRLS below. Significant dark staining and discoloration are present around the collar, shoulders, and upper back, consistent with perspiration and long-term storage. The tan canvas body shows general surface soiling and moderate wrinkling throughout. A small tear is visible in the fabric near one of the side slits. The leather fringe and stole are intact but exhibit some stiffening and surface wear. Hand-painted patches show minor fading and pigment loss.
