Victorian Bristol Glass Hand-Painted Bird and Landscape Vase - A Victorian-era art glass vase, historically attributed to Bristol glass production. The vessel is crafted from hand-blown opaque white glass with a frosted satin finish. The form features a bulbous body, a flared neck, and a wide, hand-crimped ruffled rim in a vibrant pink-to-white cased glass with a gilded edge. The front of the vase is decorated with a detailed hand-painted enamel scene contained within a stylized quatrefoil cartouche. The scene depicts a mountainous landscape with a body of water, trees, and three birds in flight with a fourth bird perched on a branch. This central reserve is surrounded by raised enamel floral sprays, including lily of the valley and white blossoms with blue-tinted leaves. The reverse side features a simple hand-painted sprig of grass. The vase sits on a circular pedestal base with a ground and polished pontil mark on the underside. Height: 10.5 inches Body Width: 5.5 inches Rim Diameter: 4.5 inches. The vase is in good antique condition. There is minor wear to the gold gilding along the ruffled rim, consistent with age and handling. Faint surface marks and minor soiling are present on the white frosted body. No chips, cracks, or visible repairs are noted.
