Hungarian Matyó Embroidered Circular Table Topper with Macramé Fringe - A large circular textile table topper featuring traditional Hungarian Matyó style embroidery. The piece is constructed on a black fabric base with dense, multi-colored embroidery in glossy thread, depicting stylized floral motifs including roses, tulips, and smaller blossoms interspersed with green foliage. The perimeter is finished with a wide, hand-knotted macramé fringe in alternating sections of vibrant red, pink, blue, yellow, green, and brown. The item is accompanied by its original red cardboard gift box featuring gold-toned lettering for Sibley's Rochester. Also included is a business card for Frank Eberhardt, owner of Ebi’s Champagne Manufacturing in Williamson, New York, which features a handwritten note on the reverse reading Thank you for your kindness f.E. Textile diameter: 26.5 inches Overall diameter including fringe: 34 inches. Excellent vintage condition. The embroidery is vibrant and intact with no pulled threads or fading. The base fabric and macramé fringe appear clean and well-preserved with no visible stains, tears, or odors. The accompanying box shows light shelf wear consistent with age.
