Native American Twined Basket with Loop Handles - This is a small, hand-woven cylindrical basket featuring two integrated semicircular loop handles. The object is produced using a twining technique with natural plant fibers. The side walls are characterized by vertical columns of chevron-patterned twined stitches. The base starts from a central point and radiates outward in a spiral pattern. The top rim is finished with a wrapped fiber bundle, a technique also used to reinforce the two handles located near the rim. The material exhibits a natural aged patina with golden-brown tones. Height: 3.5 inches Diameter: 5 inches (excluding handles). Fair to good antique condition. Notable fraying and fiber loss are visible along the top rim and the handle wrappings. The main structure of the basket is sound. Minor dust accumulation is present in the recesses of the weave.
