Hennette Moore (American, 20th Century), New Orleans French Quarter Street Scene, Hand-Colored Opalotype - A hand-colored opalotype by artist Hennette Moore depicting a characteristic street scene in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The composition features a row of historic buildings with prominent wrought iron balconies and shutters in shades of turquoise and blue. Pink floral vines are visible in the upper right corner. The work is signed in the lower-left corner with the inscription © HENNETTE MOORE / NEW ORLEANS. The piece is housed in an ornate molded frame with a cream-colored finish and gilded accents. The artwork is an opalotype, a technique involving a photographic image on opaque white glass that is subsequently hand-colored. Frame: 14.75 x 16.75 inches Sight: 11.5 x 13.5 inches. The opalotype appears to be in good condition with colors remaining bright and no visible cracks to the glass plate. The frame shows age-related cracking and minor losses to the molded composition ornaments. The brown paper backing on the reverse side is torn and shows wear.
