A Collection of Southeast Asian Ethnographic Daggers Including Moro Gunong and Indonesian Keris - This collection features several ethnographic blades primarily from the Philippines and Indonesia. Included is a straight-bladed steel dagger with a turned wood hilt and a ribbed spherical pommel. The blade features an incised cursive inscription reading W.W. Marshall and is housed in a wooden scabbard with two plain white metal bands. A Philippine Moro Gunong is present, featuring a recurved steel blade with a notched spine. Its dark hilt is decorated with circular bone or shell inlays and a stylized bird-head pommel. It includes a leather-covered wooden scabbard. Also included is an Indonesian Keris with a wavy hand-forged steel blade and an intricately carved wood hilt depicting a mythical figure. The metal hilt ring is set with red and dark stones, and the wooden scabbard features deep floral relief carvings. A second Philippine Moro weapon, a wavy-bladed Kris, features engraved decorative motifs near the base of the blade. The curved grip has inlaid bands and decorative metal fittings, housed in a wooden scabbard with three chased white metal bands featuring punched geometric patterns. The pieces show signs of age and significant use. All blades exhibit heavy surface oxidation and rust pitting. The turned wood pommel on the inscribed dagger has a prominent vertical crack. The leather covering on the Gunong scabbard is in poor condition with significant tears and losses. The metal bands on the Kris hilt show lifting and structural damage. All wooden scabbards exhibit general wear, scuffing, and minor scratches.
