Jay Te Winburn, Portrait Miniature of a Bride in a Pearl-Set Frame and Leather Triptych Case (Signed) - An early 20th-century oval portrait miniature depicting a formal portrait of a young bride. The subject is shown in a white gown and veil, holding a large bouquet of lilies and lilies of the valley. The miniature is signed lower right: Jay Te Winburn. The artwork is mounted in a gold-toned metal frame with a bezel of seed pearls and a decorative suspension loop at the top. It is housed in a folding leather triptych presentation case with a gold-colored velvet-lined interior. The exterior of the case is tan leather featuring gilded ornamental borders and a fold-out easel stand on the reverse. The subject's hairstyle and dress style indicate a date of approximately 1925 to 1935. 6.25 x 4.75 inches (case closed). The portrait surface shows minor foxing and age-related spots. The gold-toned metal frame has light oxidation. The leather case exhibits visible scuffing and edge wear, with minor losses to the gilded decoration. The interior velvet lining shows pressure marks from the frame.
