Antique American Hand-Tied Patchwork Scrap Quilt - This is an antique American utility quilt featuring a staggered horizontal rectangular patchwork pattern, commonly known as a brick design. The piece is constructed from various cotton scrap fabrics, including red and white ginghams, blue and white checks, ticking stripes, and various printed calicos in shades of blue, red, tan, and purple. It features a hand-tied construction with white yarn ties securing the layers. The quilt includes wide borders on two opposite sides made from a navy blue and white checkered fabric. The reverse is a light blue and white gridded cotton fabric. Width: 81 inches Length: 72 inches. Poor to fair condition. Significant structural wear is present throughout, including one severely shredded patch exposing the internal batting. There is extensive fraying and loss of fabric along all edges. The border fabric is detached in several areas. General fading, minor staining, and loose or missing ties are observed.
