Mid-20th Century American Pieced Cotton Quilt in Churn Dash Pattern - This is a mid-20th century American pieced cotton quilt featuring the Churn Dash pattern, also known as Hole in the Barn Door or Monkey Wrench. The nine-patch construction includes solid pink cotton blocks interspersed with off-white cotton squares featuring various small-scale prints such as circles, squares, and dashed lines. A grey and brown herringbone printed fabric is also incorporated into the pieced design. The central field is framed by a wide, solid pink cotton border. The bedcover is finished with dense, all-over machine quilting in a serpentine or ocean wave pattern. The reverse side consists of a plain off-white cotton fabric that showcases the decorative quilting stitches. Length: Approximately 84 inches Width: Approximately 61 inches. Fair to good vintage condition. There is notable brownish staining and foxing distributed across both the top surface and the reverse side. The pink fabrics show moderate fading throughout, particularly on the border. Minor fraying and general surface wear are present along the edges and at the corners.
