Roycroft Arts and Crafts Hammered Brass Book Mark - An Arts and Crafts style bookmark produced by the Roycroft community in East Aurora, New York. The piece is crafted from a single sheet of hand-hammered brass or bronze, featuring a tapered blade with a rounded tip. The upper portion is folded back to create a functional tension clip. Decorative hand-tooling on the front consists of vertical rows of elongated indentations and five small square punch marks. The reverse of the clip is stamped with the Roycroft mark, featuring a cross and orb enclosing the letter R, above the word ROYCROFT. The main body of the reverse shows three circular indentations and a faint hand-incised mark reading f3. Length: 4.5 inches. The bookmark is in good condition with surface wear consistent with age and use. Visible characteristics include a natural aged patina, scattered light oxidation, and minor surface abrasions. There is a small circular paper inventory sticker marked A2 / B2 and residual adhesive on the reverse side.
