Bidspirit auction | Navajo Sterling Silver and Malachite

Navajo Sterling Silver and Malachite Statement Ring by Larry Temick - A Navajo-crafted Southwestern statement ring in sterling silver, featuring a large, oval cabochon-cut malachite gemstone. The natural stone displays distinct, vibrant green and dark forest green banding patterns. The malachite is set within a scalloped bezel, which is further embellished by a border of twisted rope wire. The ring is constructed with a split-shoulder, triple-wire shank that tapers to a solid band at the back. Marking on the reverse of the ring head includes an incised script signature for Sterling. The interior of the band is stamped with the block letters STERLING and the maker's mark L. TEMICK, identifying the piece as the work of Navajo silversmith Larry Temick. Ring size: US 5.75 Ring head length: 1.25 inches Weight: 0.377 ozt (11.7 grams). The ring is in very good vintage condition. The sterling silver retains a natural age-related patina, most notable within the recessed areas of the rope-wire and scalloped setting. The malachite cabochon is highly polished and remains secure in its setting, with no visible cracks, chips, or abrasions.
