Mexican Sterling Silver and Turquoise Wreath Brooch - This mid-20th-century Mexican brooch is designed as a circular wreath in sterling silver. The piece features sixteen round turquoise cabochons set within serrated bezels. The stones exhibit an opaque robin's-egg blue color. Small silver granules are placed along the outer perimeter between the gemstone settings. The reverse bears the stamped marks HECHO EN MEXICO, 925 ASC, and a Mexican eagle assay mark numbered 23, indicative of production in Taxco between approximately 1948 and 1980. The brooch is secured with a hinged pin stem and a C-style clasp. Diameter: 1.25 inches Weight: 0.212 ozt. The brooch is in good vintage condition. All sixteen stones are present and secure in their settings. The sterling silver shows a natural aged patina and tarnish, primarily on the reverse and in the recessed areas between the bezel settings. The pin stem has a slight functional bend but remains in working order.
