Vintage Mexican Silver and Turquoise Butterfly Brooch - This vintage silver brooch is designed in the form of a stylized butterfly, featuring repousse-style domed accents and incised wing details. Two round cabochon-cut green turquoise stones are bezel-set onto the upper wings. The reverse is stamped with the marks SILV MEXI and a circular Mexican eagle assay mark. The piece is equipped with a hinged pin stem and a simple C-clasp mechanism. Width: Approximately 1 1/8 inches Weight: 0.081 ozt. Good vintage condition with heavy tarnish and surface oxidation throughout. A small chip is visible on the edge of the proper right turquoise cabochon. The pin stem shows significant surface rust and heavy oxidation. The clasp mechanism remains functional.
