1961 CA 1-Cent Bronze Coin, Off-Center Strike Error - Canada 1961 1-cent bronze coin (KM# 59) featuring a significant off-center strike error. The die strike is displaced towards the upper-right edge of the planchet, resulting in an unstruck crescent on the lower-left margin. The obverse features the laureate portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, and the reverse features the maple leaf design. This specimen is struck in bronze and retains its original copper-red luster. The coin is housed in a 2x2-inch cardboard and plastic film holder with handwritten notations including OFF-CENTER, 1961 - 1c - CANADA, and an erroneous date notation of 1959 on the reverse side. This type of error occurs during the minting process when a planchet is improperly seated between the dies. Uncirculated red. The coin exhibits full original mint luster and vibrant copper-red color across both faces. There is no visible wear on the high points of the portrait or maple leaves. A few minor contact marks are present on the surfaces. The cardboard holder shows signs of age, including toning and small stains.
