A Collection of Five Antique and Vintage Sterling Silver Thimbles - This collection includes five sterling silver thimbles featuring various decorative motifs and manufacturer marks. The first thimble is attributed to Stern Brothers of New York, featuring a machine-punched body with a chased band of floral and leaf sprays. It is stamped with the size number 12 on the exterior and the word SILVER over a shield containing the letter S on the interior crown. The second thimble is by Ketcham and McDougall and features a pictorial relief scene of a sailboat, lighthouse, and seagulls. The interior crown is marked STERLING above a five-pointed star with an internal bell or thimble symbol. The third thimble is a heavy-gauge piece from Mexico decorated with high-relief repousse floral and scroll patterns, stamped MEXICO 925 on the interior base. The fourth thimble features a classical scroll and foliage band above a beaded base rim, with an interior mark of a Gothic-style character inside a shield border. The fifth thimble is attributed to Simons Brothers Company, featuring a geometric crown-style band and stamped with a size 9 and a crown symbol.
