US 1793-1857 Large Cent Collection, Copper, Whitman Album 9401 - A collection of United States Large Cents housed in a Whitman Bookshelf Album, model 9401. The collection contains multiple copper one-cent coins issued during the early to mid-19th century. Visible specimens include those from the Draped Bust, Matron Head (Coronet), and Braided Hair series. The album is a blue textured four-page binder featuring gold-stamped lettering and the Whitman eagle logo. Each page contains circular apertures with clear plastic slides designed to hold and display individual coins by year. The interior includes a printed list of Whitman coin folders and albums. A pink adhesive note with the handwritten text 39 copper? is affixed to the third page near the 1838 slot. The coins are in circulated condition, generally exhibiting grades from Good to Fine. Physical characteristics include significant wear to the design elements, dark natural toning, and instances of surface oxidation and verdigris. The specimen in the 1850 slot is holed at the 12 o'clock position. The Whitman album shows moderate shelf wear, with scuffing to the covers and minor fraying at the corners and spine. The clear plastic slides are scratched and show an accumulation of internal dust and debris.
