Vintage Mexican Sterling Silver and Abalone Frog Brooch - A vintage figural brooch in the form of a stylized frog or toad. The piece is constructed from a sterling silver plate with recessed sections featuring iridescent abalone shell inlay that displays tones of green, blue, and brown. Engraved lines are used to define the eyes, mouth, and leg joints. The reverse of the brooch is stamped Hecho en Mexico and 925, indicating sterling silver purity. A circular Mexican eagle assay mark is also present on one of the webbed feet. The brooch is fitted with a standard pin-back mechanism and a rotating safety catch.
