Vintage Starr Coca-Cola Wall Mounted Bottle Opener by Brown Co. - This is a vintage wall-mounted bottle opener manufactured by the Brown Co. of Newport News, Virginia, under the Starr brand name. The piece is produced from cast metal and features the iconic Coca-Cola branding in raised relief on the front face. The word DRINK in block lettering is positioned above the Coca-Cola script logo, which retains remnants of its original red paint. The reverse side contains molded identification marks including STARR, PATENT 2333088, and BROWN CO. NEWPORT NEWS, VA. The bottom mounting flange on the reverse is marked with the number 23 and MADE IN U.S.A. The patent number 2,333,088 refers to a design registered in 1943. The opener features two pre-drilled holes for mounting to a wall or cooler. Height: Approximately 3 inches. The item is in as-found vintage condition with heavy surface oxidation and rust throughout. The original plated finish has been largely lost over time. Visible traces of red paint remain within the recessed areas of the script logo.
