A Collection of CA Silver Coins, King George V and King George VI - A collection of CA silver coins issued during the early to mid-20th century, featuring various denominations and monarchs. The group includes 50-cent pieces dated 1919 and 1934, 25-cent pieces including 1940 and 1945, and a small 1917 5-cent piece. The George V coinage displays a crowned bust facing left with the obverse inscription GEORGIVS V DEI GRA:REX ET IND:IMP:. The George VI coinage shows an uncrowned bust facing left with the inscription GEORGIVS VI D:G:REX ET IND:IMP:. Reverse designs include the caribou profile on the 25-cent pieces and a crowned denomination centered within a maple leaf wreath on the 5-cent and 50-cent coins. The 1917 5-cent and 1919 50-cent pieces are composed of .925 fine silver (Sterling), while the 1934 and 1940s issues are composed of .800 fine silver. The 1934 50-cent piece is a noted semi-key date for the series with a relatively low mintage. All coins feature standard reeded edges. Weight: 1.338 ozt (for five of the coins as shown on scale). Circulated condition across the collection. The 1919 50-cent and one 25-cent piece exhibit heavy wear with significant loss of detail. The 1934 50-cent piece shows moderate wear but retains legible design elements and lettering. Toning varies from light to dark across the group, with visible surface marks, abrasions, and contact marks consistent with age and circulation.
