Walter E. Hayward Co. 1/20 12K Gold-Filled Hand-Engraved Circular Locket Pendant - A vintage circular hinged locket manufactured by the Walter E. Hayward Co. of Attleboro, Massachusetts. The pendant is constructed from 1/20 12-karat gold-filled metal. The front face features a hand-engraved botanical design depicting fuchsia floral sprays and a decorative scrolled border with stippled detailing. The reverse of the locket is plain with a lightly brushed finish. The interior opens to reveal two circular photograph compartments, both retaining their original metal frames. The piece is suspended from a simple tapered bail with an attached split jump ring. The interior rim is stamped with the hallmark 1/20 12K G.F. followed by the maker mark of a capital H inside a square frame. No chain is included. Diameter: 1 inch (25 mm) Total Drop: 1.25 inches. The locket is in good vintage condition. Visible surface wear and light scratching are present, particularly on the reverse, consistent with age and use. Minor oxidation and verdigris are visible around the hinge and the bail attachment point. The hinge is secure and the locket snaps closed firmly.
