Bidspirit auction | A Pair of Mexican Sterling
A Pair of Mexican Sterling Silver Textured Half-Hoop Earrings and an Abalone Shell Bracelet - This lot consists of two pieces of vintage jewelry originating from Mexico. The first item is a matched pair of wide half-hoop earrings crafted from sterling silver. Each earring features a curved rectangular form with a deep vertical-ribbed or corrugated texture across the entire exterior surface. The interiors are smooth and clearly stamped with the hallmarks MEXICO, 925, and the Taxco registration mark TS-20, which identifies the piece as post-1979 production. The earrings are designed with post-and-nut friction backs. The second item is a multi-link bracelet featuring five iridescent abalone shell cabochons in various oval and rounded rectangular shapes set into silver-toned metal frames. Weight: 0.358 ozt (bracelet only). The earrings are in good vintage condition with a heavy natural patina and oxidation visible within the textured recesses and on the interior surfaces. Normal light scratching consistent with age is present. One butterfly backing is missing. The bracelet is in fair to good condition with visible tarnish and oxidation to the metal settings and minor surface wear to the abalone shells.
