1947 CA 1 Cent Coin, King George VI, Off-Center Strike - A 1947 Canadian 1 cent coin struck in a bronze alloy. The obverse features the uncrowned, left-facing profile of King George VI with the inscription GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP :. The reverse displays a design of two maple leaves on a single stem by designer George Kruger Gray, whose initials KG are visible to the right of the stem. The coin is inscribed 1 CENT above the design, 1947 to the left, and CANADA below. This specimen exhibits a minor mint error, having been struck slightly off-center, which is visible in the uneven thickness of the rims and denticles on both faces. The coin is housed in a vintage cardboard and plastic flip with various handwritten collector notations, including ”OFF-CENTER” in blue ink. Uncirculated. The coin retains significant original copper-red luster with light, scattered surface marks and minor natural toning. The strike is sharp, and there are no signs of cleaning or significant post-mint damage.
