CA 1958 1 Cent Elizabeth II Bronze Coin with Reverse Strike-Through Error - This Canadian 1-cent coin, struck in 1958, is composed of bronze. The obverse displays the laureate bust of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, designed by Mary Gillick, with the surrounding inscription ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse features the maple leaf motif by George Kruger-Gray, inscribed 1 CENT and CANADA. A prominent irregular indentation, indicative of a strike-through or planchet defect error, is visible on the reverse rim and field near the date, partially obscuring the design of the maple leaf. The item is contained within a cardboard and plastic holder with the handwritten notation 1958 WITH CAVITY. Diameter: 19.05 mm Weight: 3.24 g. Uncirculated. The coin exhibits strong original red luster on both sides. No signs of circulation wear are present on the hair or leaf details. The irregular indentation is an as-struck mint error. Minor signs of age are present on the cardboard holder.
