1827 US Matron Head Large Cent Holed - This 1827 US Matron Head large cent is struck in copper. The coin features the Coronet Head design type. Produced at the Philadelphia Mint, this specimen belongs to the series of US cents minted from 1816 to 1839. It is characterized by the Matron Head obverse and a wreath reverse. Poor. The coin exhibits extensive wear and significant surface pitting consistent with environmental damage or burial. A thick, dark green and brown patina covers the surfaces. Two large circular holes have been drilled through the planchet, affecting the design on both sides.
