CA 1954 5 Cents Nickel Off-Center Strike Error - A 1954 CA 5-cent coin struck in nickel featuring a significant off-center strike error. The obverse depicts the laureate portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse displays the beaver design with inscriptions 5 CENTS, CANADA, and 1954. The strike is displaced toward the bottom-right on the obverse, resulting in a large crescent-shaped portion of the planchet remaining unstruck. The coin features a plain edge. It is contained within a vintage 2x2 cardboard and plastic flip bearing the handwritten notations MARLES + COMPANY, 39 CAN. FUNDS, 8% D/s., 1954 5c - CANADA, and OFF-CENTER. Extremely fine. The coin retains some original mint luster with minor surface marks consistent with handling. No signs of cleaning or major damage are present. The vintage holder exhibits toning and light wear to the cardboard.
