1881 US Morgan Silver Dollar Philadelphia Mint - 1881 US Morgan Silver Dollar. This coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and features the Morgan obverse design and a Heraldic Eagle reverse. It is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. The obverse bears the date 1881 and thirteen stars. The reverse includes the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR, with no mint mark present above the letters DO in DOLLAR. The coin appears in raw, uncertified condition and retains some original luster in the fields. Weight: 0.860 ozt. Circulated. The surfaces show numerous contact marks, bag marks, and visible scratches on both the obverse and reverse. Light peripheral toning is present, particularly near the date on the obverse and the lower rim of the reverse. Wear is evident on the high points of the design, including Liberty's hair and the eagle's breast feathers.
