Bidspirit auction | A Collection of US Silver

A Collection of US Silver Mercury and Roosevelt Dimes - A collection of US silver ten-cent coins, including a 1964 Roosevelt dime and multiple Mercury (Winged Liberty Head) dimes. The Mercury dimes represent various years of issue including 1939, 1940, 1942, 1943, 1944, and 1945. All coins are composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper with reeded edges. These examples appear to be Philadelphia Mint strikes as no mint marks are visible. This assortment is similar to mid-century year sets and silver lots often sold by numismatic firms such as the Littleton Coin Company. Weight: 0.787 ozt (measured for a subgroup of five Mercury dimes). The coins are in circulated condition, exhibiting varying degrees of surface wear, minor contact marks, and natural toning ranging from bright silver to deep grey. The 1964 Roosevelt dime appears to have light wear, while the Mercury dimes show more significant circulation and heavier toning consistent with their age.
