US 1891-O Morgan Silver Dollar - US 1891 Morgan silver dollar struck at the New Orleans Mint. The obverse features the Liberty Head design and the reverse displays the heraldic eagle within a wreath with the O mint mark positioned above the denomination. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper with a reeded edge. The Morgan dollar series was authorized by the Bland-Allison Act of 1878 to utilize silver from Western mines. Weight: 0.834 ozt. Circulated. Significant wear is visible on the high points of Liberty hair and the eagle breast feathers. Dark toning and a heavy patina are present across both surfaces, particularly in the recessed areas. Several scratches are visible in the fields.
