1945 US Lincoln Wheat Cent, Major Off-Center Strike Error - This 1945 US Lincoln Wheat cent was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. It features a significant off-center strike error, with the die impressions shifted toward the lower-left on the obverse and lower-right on the reverse, leaving a substantial portion of the planchet unstruck. The obverse features the Lincoln Wheat design type with a clearly visible date of 1945. The reverse shows the standard wheat cent design with the central denominations and flanking stalks. The coin is composed of a copper-zinc alloy, characteristic of the shell-casing brass composition used from 1944 to 1946. It is housed in a standard 2x2 cardboard and plastic flip with various handwritten numismatic notations. Diameter: 19.05 mm Weight: 3.11 grams. The coin appears to be in uncirculated condition, retaining significant original red-brown luster and showing no evidence of circulation wear on the high points of the design.
