US 1919-S Lincoln Wheat Cent with Off-Center Strike Error - This US one-cent coin is a 1919-S Lincoln Wheat Cent struck in bronze at the San Francisco Mint. The piece exhibits a notable minting error, featuring an off-center strike of approximately 10% to 15% toward the 4 o'clock position on the obverse. The obverse displays the Lincoln portrait with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST partially missing due to the planchet misalignment. The reverse features the Wheat ears design. The coin displays an overall brown coloration. It is presented in a 2x2 cardboard and plastic flip with handwritten notations identifying the error as 1/8 OFF. Circulated brown surfaces with moderate wear on the high points of the design, including Lincoln's cheek and the wheat stalks on the reverse. Surfaces appear original with no evidence of cleaning or environmental damage. The off-center strike has resulted in a partial loss of the peripheral design elements along the upper-left obverse rim.
