1948-D US Lincoln Wheat Cent Off-Center Strike Error - This US one-cent coin, dated 1948 from the Denver Mint, is a Lincoln Wheat Cent error coin struck on a bronze planchet. The coin exhibits a major off-center strike shifted toward the 12 o'clock position, leaving a significant unstruck crescent on the lower edge of the planchet. The obverse features the Lincoln profile and the reverse displays the Wheat ears design. The coin is presented in a vintage 2x2 cardboard and mylar flip with handwritten notations including the date, mint mark, error measurements, and grade. Off-center error coins that retain a full date and mint mark are considered desirable by numismatists. Extremely fine. The coin exhibits a uniform chocolate-brown patina with light wear on the highest points of the design and minor handling marks consistent with light circulation.
