CA 1886 Silver 5 Cents Victoria Young Head Off-Center Strike - A Canadian silver five-cent coin dated 1886, cataloged as KM# 2. The obverse features the Young Head portrait of Queen Victoria with the legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA REGINA. and CANADA below the bust. The reverse displays the denomination 5 CENTS and the date 1886 within two maple leaf branches tied with a ribbon, surmounted by a crown. The specimen exhibits a minor off-center strike error, where the design is shifted toward the bottom left edge. The coin is composed of .925 fine silver. It is housed in a standard 2x2 cardboard and plastic flip with handwritten identification. The coin shows moderate wear on the high points of the portrait and crown consistent with a very fine grade. Original mint luster is visible in the recessed areas of the design. The surfaces exhibit light toning and minor circulation marks. The cardboard flip shows age-related yellowing and foxing.
