1988 US Lincoln Cent 35-40 Percent Off-Center Strike Error - This 1988 US Lincoln cent from the Philadelphia Mint features a major off-center strike error. Struck on a copper-plated zinc planchet, the strike is approximately 35-40 percent off-center. On the obverse, the design is shifted toward the lower-right edge, while the date 1988 is fully visible and intact. The reverse design is shifted toward the upper-right edge. A significant portion of the planchet remains unstruck and blank. The coin has a plain edge. This error is housed in a standard 2x2 cardboard holder with a clear plastic window. Uncirculated. The coin exhibits original mint luster with some scattered dark carbon spotting and light surface marks. Areas of minor surface residue are visible.
