US 1946 Lincoln Wheat Cent 1c Philadelphia Mint Off-Center Error Coin - This US 1946 Lincoln Wheat cent was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and is composed of a copper alloy. The coin features the Lincoln Head obverse and the Wheat Ears reverse. This specimen is an off-center error coin, exhibiting a planchet shift that has resulted in an uneven rim thickness. The coin is housed in a vintage 2x2 cardboard and plastic flip bearing handwritten collector notations: 1946 1c EF/AU, 3/32 - K6, and three star symbols. The 3/32 notation likely identifies the measurement of the off-center strike. The inscriptions IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, ONE CENT, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA remain legible. The coin is in extremely fine to about uncirculated condition, exhibiting light wear on the highest points of the design and a natural brown patina. The vintage cardboard flip is yellowed with age, and the staples show significant rust and oxidation.
