Canada 1959 Silver 10 Cents Off-Center Strike Error - This is a 1959 Canada silver 10-cent coin featuring a significant off-center strike mint error. The coin is composed of 80% silver and 20% copper with a fineness of 0.800, containing approximately 0.06 troy ounces of actual silver weight. The obverse features the laureate portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the Latin inscription ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse displays the Bluenose schooner design with the inscriptions CANADA, 10 CENTS, and the date 1959. The off-center strike is shifted towards the upper right on the reverse and the bottom on the obverse, resulting in a crescent-shaped unstruck area and uneven rim thicknesses. The piece is housed in a vintage 2x2 cardboard flip with handwritten blue ink and pencil notations including KEN ENGLUND, OFF-CENTER, and 1959 10c PLUS 2 OFF 1961 1c. Diameter: 18.03 mm Weight: 2.33 grams. The coin is in high-grade uncirculated condition, exhibiting original mint luster throughout. Surfaces show light golden-brown toning and minimal contact marks. The reeded edge is visible through the side of the holder. No signs of cleaning or environmental damage are present.
