1864 New Brunswick 1 Cent Off-Center Strike Mint Error - 1864 New Brunswick one cent coin struck in copper-bronze. This specimen features a significant off-center strike mint error, shifted approximately 15% to 20% toward the 7 o'clock position on the obverse and the 5 o'clock position on the reverse. The obverse depicts the laureate head of Queen Victoria with the partial legend VICTORIA D: G:. The reverse shows a central crown above the date 1864, surrounded by a wreath of maple leaves, with partial legends ONE CENT and NEW BRUNSWICK. A substantial crescent-shaped portion of the planchet remains blank and unstruck. The coin is uncertified and remains housed in a standard 2x2 cardboard flip. Circulated. The coin displays moderate wear on the high points of the design, including Victoria's hair and the leaves of the reverse wreath. The surfaces exhibit a dark brown to charcoal patina with numerous small contact marks and scratches visible on both the struck and unstruck areas of the planchet. No signs of cleaning or environmental damage are present.
