US 1939 Lincoln Wheat Cent Major Off-Center Strike Error Coin - This US 1939 Lincoln Wheat Cent features a significant major off-center strike error. The strike is shifted approximately 35 percent to 40 percent toward the upper-left, resulting in a large unstruck crescent of the copper-bronze planchet. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the obverse depicts the portrait of Abraham Lincoln with the inscriptions LIBERTY and the date 1939 clearly defined. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is partially truncated by the off-center alignment. The reverse displays the central denomination ONE CENT and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA with the flanking wheat stalks. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is visible along the bottom edge. The coin retains its original red-brown luster and sharp design details. It is housed in a vintage 2x2 cardboard and plastic flip with handwritten collector notations. Metal composition: 95 percent copper, 5 percent tin and zinc. Uncirculated. The coin exhibits original mint luster with no signs of circulation wear. Surfaces show minor natural toning and small handling marks. The vintage cardboard holder shows yellowing and pencil notations.
