1953 Canada 1 Cent Bronze Coin NSF Variety - This Canadian 1 cent bronze coin is the No Shoulder Fold (NSF) variety, identified by the serifed lettering in the obverse legend. Struck for the inaugural year of Queen Elizabeth II's coinage, the obverse features the laureate portrait by Mary Gillick. The reverse displays the twin maple leaf motif by George Kruger-Gray, dated 1953 with the KG designer initials. A planchet lamination error is visible as a linear fissure running through the reverse design. The coin is struck in bronze with a plain edge. The coin is in heavily circulated condition, graded Good to Very Good. Significant wear is present on the high points of the portrait and the maple leaf veins. The surfaces exhibit a dark, dull brown patina with scattered nicks, scratches, and small edge dings.
