1962 Canada 1 Cent Bronze Coin with Curved Planchet Clip Error - This 1962 Canada 1 cent bronze coin features a prominent mint error known as a curved planchet clip, located at approximately the 6 o'clock position on the reverse. The obverse features the laureate portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, inscribed with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse displays the maple leaf design, consisting of two leaves on a single twig, with the denomination 1 CENT, the date 1962, and the issuer CANADA. The designer initials KG for George Kruger-Gray are located to the right of the twig. The coin is struck in bronze with a plain edge and is housed in a gold-colored cardboard 2x2 flip. Diameter: 19.05 mm Composition: 98% copper, 0.5% tin, 1.5% zinc. Uncirculated condition with full original red mint luster. The curved planchet clip is a genuine mint error occurring during planchet production. The 2x2 flip shows minor age-related oxidation and rust on the staples.
