Lionel No. 6257 O-Gauge Caboose and Original Box - A vintage O-gauge model train caboose manufactured by The Lionel Corporation. The caboose is constructed with a red molded plastic body and a black-painted metal chassis. It features metal rolling trucks and knuckle couplers. One side of the caboose is marked LIONEL with smaller text reading C-40-1 and BUILT 9-47. The opposite side displays a circular stylized L logo over the number 6257. The accompanying original cardboard box features a red, yellow, and blue graphic design. The box is printed with No. 6257-50 CABOOSE LIONEL on the end flap and THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK CHICAGO on the side panels. The caboose is in good vintage condition. The red plastic body is complete without visible cracks, breaks, or chips. All markings are legible and crisp. There is a presence of surface dust and minor grime consistent with long-term storage. The trucks and couplers remain attached and functional. The original box is in poor condition, showing significant structural wear including heavy crushing, creases, and several tears. One end flap is partially detached.
