Lionel Postwar No. 2560 Operating Work Crane with Original Box - This O-gauge model train operating work crane was produced by The Lionel Corporation of New York during the postwar era. The model features a painted metal cab and boom mounted on a black die-cast metal frame with metal trucks and couplers. The color scheme consists of a yellow cab with a red roof and a black boom and chassis. As an operating unit, the crane features a manually rotatable cab and a boom that can be raised or lowered using a side-mounted hand-crank wheel. Markings include the model number 2560 printed on the cab side. The original orange and blue box includes a blue rectangle with the Lionel logo in yellow and red, with the number 2560 printed to the left. The box end flap is marked No. 2560 Operating Work Crane. The item shows moderate signs of play wear. There is noticeable paint chipping on the edges of the red roof and minor wear on the yellow cab rivet details. Surface dust is present throughout the piece. The crane is missing its original lifting line and hook assembly. The original cardboard box is in poor to fair condition, exhibiting significant shelf wear, creasing, and structural damage. One end flap is partially detached and torn, and several inner flaps show heavy wear or are missing.
