Lionel Postwar No. 2020 O-Gauge 6-8-6 Steam Turbine Locomotive and Original Box - This is a postwar-era Lionel model steam locomotive, cataloged as number 2020, modeled after the Pennsylvania Railroad S-2 turbine engine. The locomotive is constructed with a die-cast metal boiler and chassis finished in black paint. It features a 6-8-6 wheel configuration with a six-wheel front pilot truck, eight main driving wheels, and a six-wheel rear trailing truck. Markings include the silver-tone characters 2020 printed on both sides of the cab and a red Pennsylvania Railroad keystone logo on the front boiler door containing the number 6200. The item includes its original orange and blue cardboard box labeled for model 2020 along with a corrugated cardboard inner protective sleeve. This lot consists of the locomotive only; the matching tender is not included. The locomotive shows moderate signs of play wear, including a layer of accumulated dust and minor paint chipping on raised edges and surfaces. Metal handrails are present and appear intact. The internal mechanical and electrical components are untested. The original box is in fair to good vintage condition, exhibiting significant shelf wear, creasing, corner blunting, small tears, and remnants of old adhesive tape. The inner cardboard liner is present but shows wear.
