The sides are decorated with heat-stamped silver-white lettering reading LIONEL LINES. The unit is equipped with two six-wheel trucks, center-rail pickup rollers, and an electromagnetic rear coupler. The interior houses an electric air-whistle mechanism with a blue lead wire visible on the underside.
