MTH Nickel Plate Road Berkshire 2-8-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender 765 - MTH Electric Trains O-Gauge model steam locomotive and tender, representing a 2-8-4 Berkshire-type engine. The set is decorated for the Nickel Plate Road (New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad - N.Y.C. & St. L.) featuring the road number 765. The locomotive is constructed of die-cast metal with plastic and brass-finished details, including separate grab irons, piping, and a simulated coal load in the tender. Markings include the road number 765 on the cab sides, boiler front, and smokebox door, with smaller text below the cab reading S-2 and 64100. A builder's plate on the smokebox identifies the Lima Locomotive Works. The tender is prominently marked Nickel Plate Road in yellow lettering. The underside of the locomotive chassis bears the cast initials M, T, H, identifying the manufacturer. The model is configured for 3-rail O-Gauge electric operation and features four pickup rollers on the locomotive underside. It is equipped with an operating front knuckle coupler on the locomotive and a rear knuckle coupler on the tender. A multi-pin electrical tether is present for connecting the engine to the tender. The locomotive and tender are in good, complete condition with no visible missing parts. There is a moderate accumulation of surface dust throughout and minor scuffing on some painted surfaces consistent with light use. The items have not been tested for functionality.
