MTH Electric Trains O-Gauge Union Pacific Big Boy 4-8-8-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender 4012 - MTH Electric Trains O-gauge model of the Union Pacific Big Boy 4-8-8-4 steam locomotive and matching tender. The model is constructed of die-cast metal with plastic components. It features an articulated chassis with a 4-8-8-4 wheel arrangement and a multi-pin electrical tether connecting the engine to the tender. The exterior is finished in black with a silver-toned smokebox. Markings include the road number 4012 on the cab and front number boards, with Union Pacific printed on the tender sides. The underside of the locomotive chassis is marked with raised lettering reading MTH and GREASE. The tender includes a simulated coal load and a six-axle truck arrangement. The locomotive and tender are in used condition with a significant accumulation of dust across all surfaces. The paint and lettering remain legible, though there is minor surface wear consistent with age and handling. All major components and rod assemblies appear intact. The item is offered without its original packaging. Mechanical and electronic functions have not been tested.
