Lionel No. 154 Automatic Road Crossing Signal with No. 154C Track Connector and Original Box - This lot features a Lionel No. 154 Automatic Road Crossing Signal, a classic postwar O gauge model railroad accessory manufactured by The Lionel Corporation. The signal is constructed with a black-painted base and a silver-toned post. It features a white crossbuck with raised black lettering reading RAIL CROSSING ROAD and a vertical STOP sign positioned between the two signal lamps. The signal heads are finished in black and fitted with red translucent lenses. Green insulated wiring is attached to the base for connection to the layout. Included with the signal is a No. 154C track connector made of black composite material and metal, which bears the incised text: NO. 154C, TRACK CONNECTOR, MADE IN U.S. OF AMERICA, and THE LIONEL CORP. N.Y. The original cardboard box is present, featuring the signature Lionel orange and blue color scheme with a yellow rectangle. The box is printed with LIONEL ELECTRIC TRAINS, THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK CHICAGO, and No. 154 AUTOMATIC ROAD CROSSING SIGNAL. A vintage adhesive price tag is affixed to one end flap, marked with the price of $3.98. The signal is in good vintage condition with visible surface dust and minor paint wear, primarily on the base. The wiring is attached but shows signs of age and previous use. The No. 154C track connector shows minor oxidation to the metal components. The original box displays moderate shelf wear, including creasing, softening of the corners, and small tears to the end flaps. The functional operation of the signal and track connector has not been tested.
